We told you March was all about Land Rover and Range Rover Tuning at Viezu

To kick off Viezu Technologies Land Rover focused month of March, than a Land Rover dyno Day.

We held a Land Rover dyno day on behalf of IRB Developments. This was an open day for Land Rover enthusiasts, it was open to all years and models to come down and run their vehicle on the dyno. These Land Rover enthusiasts are regular people, just a little more passionate about their Land Rovers, some have had their Land Rovers tuned and Range Rovers remapped to offer better power, throttle response, torque delivery etc.

The Range Rover tuning and dyno day through up a lot of surprises with a number of Land Rovers that had been tuned elsewhere, claiming much higher figures than the vehicle was actually was producing in the cold light of day.
The Mustang MD 500 AWD dyno that we use, is a harsh mistress, and many a claimed BHP figure has been shown to have fallen well short of the mark when run on the dyno and the true figures are shown. This dyno is one of the most accurate dyno’s on the market and is the reason Viezu Technologies can be sure of the quality of Land Rover remaps and Range Rover Tuning that we offer, is of the highest calibre.

The day was an enjoyable one for all with the highlight of the day for most people being the ‘custard yellow’, 1965 built, series 2 defender. A grand total of 37hp! What a machine.

The Mercedes SLS Roadster is an animal of a car. Running a temperature corrected 425hp at the wheels in stock form, with 367ft lbs of torque. Here at Viezu we saw this as a car that could be improved further with some delicate ecu remapping.

In less than 1 hour from the point of removing the ECU to having the map data analysed and optimized, we had the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG ECU back in the car and ready to show its new potential. The customer and the staff watching the Mercedes SLS Roadster on the dyno were unaware of what was about to happen.
The new Viezu / Mercedes Benz SLS AMG SLS Roadster remap had transformed this already formidable vehicle.
The dyno runs ran the same figures (as expected) on back to back runs. The The Mercedes SLS AMG had been tuned to give an additional 60horsepower at the wheels and a staggering 65ft lb of torque at the wheels. From a V8 6.2 litre naturally aspirated Mercedes SLS Roadster, this is an amazing improvement.

BugJam 2012 VW tuning show and Viezu

The Viezu girls and guys had a great few days at this years Bugjam at Santapod. The Viezu team were on hand all weekend to assist with Audi and VW tuning questions, Viezu were live writing files on site covering both the new Tricore anti tune ecus and the classic VW Chip change tuning – chip tuning too. As well as custom live tuning demonstrations and general tuning and performance q and a sessions.

The Girls were a big hit as usual, and the Tech guys were busy helping with tuning questions, the guys are highly experienced tuners covering all vehicles and all methods of tuning, as well as DPF removal, economy and performance tuning.

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700 tuning at Viezu

Tunings is great fun, and something we at Viezu have a real passion for, we always get excited to have a car on the dyno, there is no exception even after the hundreds and hundreds of cars we have tuned, its always good to hear a car power up on the dyno, but then the are cars and there are CARS! And the Lamborghini Aventador is certainly the later. As far as we know this is the first Lamborghini Aventador tuning and ecu remapping undertaken anywhere – so it’s another world first for Viezu.

The lines of the Lamborghini Aventador are so striking, sure we have seen them before, but the Lamborghini Aventador dominates the dyno room at Viezu HQ as she is loaded in, this is a seriously huge car and it has so much presents. As the dyno loads up with the Aventador the foundation of the building are shaking, she is pulling some up good power and bang on the Lamborghini claim, but now its Viezu time.

First to go is the 155mph speed limiter, it feels supersonic in the confinement of the Viezu dyno room, all cooling, fans and extraction are running, and as the power and speed grow there is nothing else to compare it to than an a jumbo jet engine full pelt inside a small room with no windows, its amazing! Now the speed limiter is discarded the Lamborghini Aventador runs a sweet and uninterrupted 230mph on the dyno. We can’t think of anything to run these numbers before.

Once additional restrictors are removed and the Lamborghini Aventador tuning is completed the power is up a significant 62bhp, and now tops out at a very respectable 762bhp.
