DPF Delete software and tuning is becoming ever more popular and needed

DPF (Diesel particulate filter) or FAP (Filtre A Particules)  is a device designed to remove diesel particles or soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine. It basically traps the diesel particles in the filter and at a given condition the ECU will put it in to regeneration mode when these particles are burnt and blown out of the exhaust.

Whilst in theory the DPF system is a great idea, unfortunately the DPF often gets blocked and this causes running problems, its often the low mileage drivers who get hit the hardest as the DPF filter does not get a chance to regenerate.

Repair costs can be very expensive with some DPF systems costing over £1400. The filter is not a requirement for MOT test so one solution which is becoming ever more popular is to remove the DPF and remap the vehicles ECU to remove program – this is known as DPF removal or DPF deletion
