Paul Busby – Viezu
TWO Worcestershire businessmen face a tense final wait to find out if they have been successful in the 2012 Midlands Business Awards.
The judges’ verdict will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony on Friday night at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, where celebrity chef Alan Coxon and company boss Paul Busby will be among 47 finalists competing in nine categories, which bring together the best of Midlands business.
Evesham-based Mr Coxon’s business, Coxon’s Kitchen, has been shortlisted in the Midlands Exporter of the Year category, while he is also among the contenders for the Midlands Entrepreneur of the Year title – a category for which Mr Busby, from Bromsgrove, is also in the running.
The chef, TV presenter, author and food archaeologist’s love of culinary history helps to bring alive the historic originations of everyday ingredients and he has been exporting products using Roman recipes to Italy.
Mr Busby and his business Viezu Technology are potentially in line for a hat-trick of awards.
The firm is a world leader in vehicle tuning; its programming files and products have been developed over 20 years of hands-on experience and tested both in the lab and on the road.
It is down to the final five in the Midlands Exporter of the Year and chief executive Mr Busby has gone through to the final for the Innovation and the Entrepreneur of the Year categories.

New Man on the Bridge!
As we start the New Year, a year which will continue to see Viezu grow and the introduction of a number of business improvements, we would like to formally announce the appointment of our new General Manager Alasdair Maclachlan.
Alasdair joins us with a wealth of experience in Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, gained throughout a career in the Automotive industry. Alasdair will be responsible for the day to day running of Viezu, ensuring consistent and industry leading dealer support.
2012 is set to be very exciting, we have new shows booked, a great new range of Dynos and rolling roads from Mustang, a new web site, too many new products, services, and vehicle coverage to list and a whole stack of awards we are nominated for in the coming months. Not to mention ISO accreditation. So it looks like Alasdair is going to have his hands full!
We are sure you’ll agree Alasdair’s appointment demonstrates Viezu’s continued growth and is the first step in 2012’s continual progression. Please join us in welcoming Alasdair to the Viezu family.

We have lost of new development vehicles lined up and we have just recruited 3 new staff, so the team is stronger than ever, offering better customer and dealer support
In February we hope to be the first ISO registered tuning company, and we are up for a whole host of new Awards too.

International Autosport Show NEC 2011
We had a great week last week at the UK’s Autosport show. Autosport is Europe’s leading After-market performance car tuning show. We would like to thank all our dealers, customers and friends who came to see the Viezu team, we had a great time and we hope you did too.
On display was Viezu’s range of ECU remapping tools and car tuning equipment, as well as some great offers on car tuning services and Viezu’s V-switch.

We have had this lovely Porsche 997 turbo in for tuning this week at our new dealers in Kuwait, tuning in the Middle East is big business and we were keen to show what we could do. Viezu has an excellent range of tuning for the Porsche 997 turbo, but often we find high performance cars can respond differently than UK or USA spec vehicles, this is where Viezu stand alone with our range of tuning and bespoke custom car tuning services.
The highly skilled Viezu technicians can adapt our high performance tuning files for differences in fuel grade, altitude and local model derivatives. So this Porsche 997 turbo was about to get the Viezu treatment.
We recently spent a lot of time on the dyno with the Porsche Carrera and Porsche 997 turbo models at our UK technical and research centre, so Porsche 997 tuning is a subject we know very well indeed
So now it was time to see if we could find a little more power on this Middle East based Porsche 997 turbo, the first run showed a reasonable 443 bhp, not bad, but two maps later and a little expert adjustment for fuel octane rating and she was running a rather impressive 495 bhp, up 52bhp over stock, and very significantly up on power across the whole rev range and transforming the throttle response and power deliver of this Porsche 997 Super car.
