Ferrari 458 Italia Tuning – Ferrari Motorsport Tuning and ECU Remapping
Once again this week we have been busy tuning Ferrari 458’s. The Ferrari 458 is really becoming one of Viezu’s signature tuning cars, a lot of the Ferrari 458 tuning we have undertaken has been for road use, but we have also seen quite a few for pure motorsport use.

Maserati Quattroporte Tuning and ECU Remapping at Viezu
At Viezu we are well verse in tuning fine Italian Motorcars, we excel with our Ferrari tuning for both Ferrari 360 and 430 and more recently we have developed an excellent range of tuning and performance services and parts for Ferrari 458 tuning.
But last week we have a different Italian stallion in the stable the magnificent Maserati Quattroporte in for tuning, rolling road and ecu remapping. The Maserati Quattroporte 4.2 responded well to the tuning, gaining 23bls torque, and 17bhp, midrange power and throttle response was very considerably improved.

Ferrari 458 Tuning – Ferrari Motorsport Tuning and ECU Remapping
This week we have been tuning Ferrari 458’s. The Ferrari 458 is a car we have already have a lot of history with, and so know the Tuning and performance well, most of the Ferrari 458 tuning we have undertaken has been for road use though, now with the onset of the Ferrari 458 challenge race series we have been carrying out some rather special motorsport tuning.
There is no OBD tuning available for the Ferrari 458 at this time, so the road going cars we have already tuned, the ecu was removed and set up for bench tuning, the advantage of the Ferrari 458 challenge cars is that they are largely stripped out making removal of the ECU a little easier
The software run on the Ferrari 458 challenge car is not the same as the road going version, so careful development, testing and rolling road sessions were needed whilst the Viezu technicians created the perfect performance tuning map for the Ferrari 458 ecu remapping.

Ferrari 458 Tuning – Perfect only now better!
Last week we undertook this rather nice Ferrari 458 tuning, the Ferrari 458 is a very special car, running 573bhp from it 4.5 litre engine. This Ferrari 458 Italia had already been fitted out with twin 80mm performance cold air induction system and cat back exhaust (40bls lighters than stock) – It looked and sound pretty amazing, and ran a very respectable 576bhp on the dyno – but now it was time for a little Viezu ECU remapping
As this was our development car – there is no OBD tuning available for the Ferrari 458 at this time, so the ECU was removed and set up for bench tuning, Dr Remap – (Aka Simon) set about performing his magic transforming the Ferrari 458’s delivery and throttle response through careful ecu remapping of the Ferraris ecu files and data.
ECU remapping for the Ferrari 458 tuning includes ignition, injection, lambda, throttle reference, air mass, torque and RPM limiters. The end result is an ECU remap, and upgrade package delivering an additional 67bhp, simply amazing, the benefit of this ecu remap and tuning package is the ability to get full use of the rev range, giving the Ferrari 458 far more usable power across the whole power band, whilst retaining excellent drivability.

F430 Scuderia Ferrari Tuning
Today Viezu were asked to map yet another Ferrari, this time, an F430 Scuderia, the ECU was shipped to us for logistical reasons and we set about bench tuning this ecu.
We connected to the ECU directly with a boot mode feature we have developed meaning there is no need to remove the chip, this is of course great news for people wanting the factory finish from there remap with no signs of soldering work.
We read the data from the ECU and edited the maps with our in house tuning software, these included ignition, injection, lambda, throttle reference, air mass, torque and RPM limiters.
The end result is a software upgrade of 18hp and 25Nm torque, the benefit of this remap is the ability to rev out this engine, ideal for track use whilst giving the car a far more progressive feel whilst retaining excellent drivability.
Although not a day to day track car, this client wanted a performance upgrade and having seen our work on several of the race going Ferrari`s he knew who he wanted to use to tune his pride and joy.
